Back in 2009, Neil Blomkamp District 9 A hit not only for director, but also for star Sharlto Copley, the nature of the sci-fi story has left room for plenty of follow-up stories, with Copley recently confirming that the long-awaited rumor District 10 It can finally start moving forward. on condition District 9And, like the best of science fiction, it has found ways to reflect the cultural climate in the real world, the actor admitted that Blomkamp wants to ensure that a follow-up movie can come off as effective as the original, so neither of them rush to make the project happen before it’s ready.
“Yeah, man, we worked. I made a draft, and sent it back to him. He did a draft. It was like tiring to find the right story,” Copley recently explained to propelled. “There were some social and political things going on [Blomkamp] I felt it was probably timing wise that he didn’t want to go right away. So maybe in a year or a year and a half [we’ll begin filming]. He wants to have something to say.”
Unfortunately, despite the success District 9The tentative follow-up is just one of several Blomkamp projects I’ve struggled to achieve.

Blomkamp would go on to stress that the project was scrapped, while Scott downplayed the legitimacy of this sequel that had gained significant development momentum.
In 2018, reports surfaced that Blomkamp was associated with a new style Robocop, which would have similarly discarded many of the sequels and instead linked to the first film, with original writer Ed Neumeyer attached. In 2019, Blomkamp took to Twitter to confirm that he had parted ways Return of RoboCopwith reports emerging later that year that filmmaker Abe Forsythe had stepped into the project as its director.
